Celebrating Australian music

The Aria's... the first time i've ever been to an award show. When You watch it on Tv it looks so fabulous, so much fun, so bling bling, but in reality its not like that unfortunately. Its long, its boring.
The show lasted for about 5,5 hours, and the action only lasted for about 3 maximum. With all the best seats given out to sponsors, we were sitting far far away, looking down on the tables, trying to spot celebrities, drinking wine, while the venue was alcohol free. But I saw Nicole Kidman eating.... im happy to know she does eat.
Dont get me all wrong, it wasnt all bad. I just regret i didnt stay at home and watched it on TV. But, i did saw the red carpet arrivals, I finally saw John Butler (who is hot hot hot, but tiny :( ), I touched Nicole Kidmans hand, I saw Rove (live), Missy Higgins, Silverchair and on and on and on.

There was not much surprise among the winners, it was all very predictable, but to be honest I think they all deserved it. Silverchair got lucky, taking home a couple of statues incl. the album of the year. But Keith Urban, Hilltop Hoods, Sarah Blasko, John Butler trio, Gotye, Operator Please and Sneaky Sound System didnt go home empty handed.
The performances were surprisingly good. They sounded so much better live, then on TV recordings. One of my favourites was Kate Miller Heidke performing "Words", some say that the tiny little blond is "constructed" and "fake" i think her voice is amazing. But the hottest act was John Butler trio with Keith Urban performing "Funky Tonigh".
